History

2009
In 2009, RDO Equipment Co. established the RDO Integrated Controls division in Billings, Montana. The division’s mission was to deliver innovative Topcon solutions and support for construction GPS and Machine Control customers.
Throughout 2009, RDO Integrated Controls saw first-hand the strategic advantage that Topcon positioning technology had on the Montana construction business. To meet ongoing customer demands, the division expanded through strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
2010
In April 2010, RDO Integrated Controls partnered with Carlson Software Inc., to sell and support 3D mining and landfill machine control software products. The mutually-exclusive partnership was reached to provide the best machine control solution for RDO Integrated Control customers. The partnership has proved a success.
2011
In February 2011, RDO Integrated Controls expanded its sales and service footprint into Wyoming, as the exclusive Topcon survey source for the state.
In March 2011, RDO Integrated Controls acquired Laser Controls, Inc. the Topcon Survey, GPS, and Machine Control dealer for Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The acquisition made RDO Integrated Controls one of the most experienced Topcon dealers in the United States.
In July 2011, RDO Integrated Controls announced the acquisition of Plateau Lasers, the Topcon GPS, Laser, and Machine Control dealer in Yuma, Arizona.
This acquisition expanded RDO Integrated Controls Topcon territory for the Topcon Machine Control and GPS product lines to a total of seven states, including Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and now targeted areas of Arizona and California. In July 2011, the division’s headquarters moved to Bloomington, Minnesota.
